Hi Bamboo, yes the flowers are very pale, paler than this in real life. I would guess is just a common variety, like most things in my garden.

Well check out Autumnal blue, which is pretty pale.

It's "Gloire de Versailles" (which is also flowering in my garden now.) It is semi evergreen (loses its leaves in a hard winter) and flowers both in the summer and again in autumn. It can be hard pruned in spring to within one bud of the old wood

I orginally thought it was Gloire de Versailles Andrew but wasnt sure as on pictures flowers look quite big and these are only about 2cm in size. Thanks for the info on pruning :-)

Quite easy to tell the difference between Gloire de versailles and Autumnal Blue, Dawnsaunt - the first is deciduous, and the second isn't;-))
