What is this?

I just found out from a member that what I have thought was a Clematis is NOT a Clematis! I bought it as a mark down 2 yrs. ago the tag said it was a Clematis. When I moved to an apartment I transplanted it to my Daughters. Here are photos. What is it please!

The mystery plant that I thought was a Clematis has never bloomed does not cling and does not lose it's leaves in winter. Go to my page and select photos and you will see a couple more. Thanks, Pollyanna

Does it flower? Does it cling like a Clematis? How tall does it grow and finally is it evergreen or does it lose its leaves in winter?
