for a while, yes, make it a biggish one though, 12 inches deep preferably as a minimum. You'll probably need to turn it out and split it after a couple of years.

This is a very easy shrub (I don't like it, myself). It will seed around once it gets going. The birds will do this for you! The flowers and fruits are interesting and the stems stay a good shade of green over winter.
