I live in zone 7 in the mountains of North Carolina. I buy most of my plants in pots from local nursery's as I feel I have a better chance with local plants. Some of my best plants come from helpful neighbors.

I'm not sure who you are asking, Guest. Many of us are based in the UK, although we do have members in the USA as well as all over the world!
I live in SW England, and personally, I grow some plants from seed, and some I buy in pots. I also buy 'plug-plants' in the spring and grow them on in the greenhouse for planting out once the frosts are over.
