Hérault, France
Thank you to seaburngirl and bamboo for your helpful advice.
We have 16 new fuchsia plants described as hardy (rustique in French) - one variety is Blue Sarah - and would welcome advice on how low a temperature they can support. Living in the South of France, sunny and warm so far in January, but we do expect to get 0° some nights in the next couple of months. Will they be happy outside in 0° or lower?

So long as they're in the ground, and they're not small plug plants, they should be fine. Fuchsias, even hardy ones, are vulnerable to cold temperatures through the roots, so you're more likely to lose them in containers than you are in the ground, although it doesn't sound as if your weather would get cold enough to have to worry about that. Temperatures would have to be -5 deg C for over a week or so for damage to roots to occur (when in pots).

Yes I think it will be ok to that temp. often the top growth dies back but they reshoot from soil level.
