The main thing about this plant I'm aware of is it likes to grow in the shade. I see no reason why it shouldn't be ok in a tub, so long as it's big enough or you are prepared to pot it on when necessary and you place the container in a shady spot. Remember that plants in containers always need watering as the foliage will tend to 'sheild' the compost from the rain and the roots are not free to seek out the moisture.
