Please can you tell me if i can plant raspberry, blueberries and red berries in the same bed or would it be better to plant them in their own beds.

Thank you, kind regards

If I remember rightly, blueberries and redberries prefer an acidic soil, while raspberries prefer a neutral soil, so you can plant the first 2 together, with the raspberries seperate, if I am wrong, someone will let you know, Derek.

Raspberries quite appreciate a vaguely acidic soil, but I think you'd have problems planting them in the same bed as the others - they spread very energetically and throw up new plants at some distance from, as well as all around the original canes. They really need their own bed. Blueberries, I believe, although I haven't grown them myself, can be grown successfully in big pots.

I don't know about redberries, but blueberries do do well in large pots, helping to solve the acidity problem--just use an ericaceous compost. As Gattina says, raspberries are real thugs, so they are best planted by themselves, where you can control them.

How do I say thanks?
