When is the right time to prune climbing roses please.

I plan to do mine feb /march. I remove all the damaged crossing over stems and then bend /tie in strong softish wood as it is flexible as close to the horizontal as possible to encourage more flowers.

Can't argue with that SBgirl. It apparently can be done in early winter, but like you, I'm a late winter believer.

I usually do a little bit in Nov/Dec mainly to stop what is commonly known as windrock but the main prune I do like to get done in February....

And don't confuse climbing roses with rambling roses - the latter have around a 6 week flowering period, usually mid summer, and don't flower again, and these need their pruning in September.
