My cussonia has grown very well over the past 10 years and has two trunks. It however outgrew the space I have for it in height and I have to consider to prune the tree to be lower and preferably grow more trunks. It is possible to prune the tree to about 1.5m without killing it and how do I do it?

Am guessing you mean Cussonia paniculata and I do not believe that it can be pruned. It does regrow from the roots if cut down but have never seen the woody stem sprout after the top is damaged/removed.

I have had a look in all my books and I cant find any reference to how to prune it. Sorry.
