It was a bad year last, for busy lizzies mine got decimated by mildew, interesting that some of the flower retailers are claiming some new? resistant varieties in the catalogues ,personally I would tend not to put them in one area of the garden and buy them as plug plants to bring them on rather than seed.More expensive but less hassle .

At present the single flowered Busy Lizzies have been suffering from a downy mildew so I wouldn't bother until the seed breeders produce an immune variety. Can't understand why the seed companies are still selling the seed. The New Guinea varieties seem to have an immunity so perhaps give them a try? Seeds can be sown on the surface with a light covering of vermiculite and in an electric propagator.
