About 4 months ago I planted 8 small fir trees at the bottom of my garden in tubs , I have noticed that 1 that I kept back has the roots quite tightly contained in a material cloth bag , will this restrict the growth of my trees and should I remove them from the roots ?

And keep them well watered until you do so

If you planted the conifers without removing the cloth bags then, yes, you need to lift them remove the bags and replant. Do you know which conifer they are as from the photo they could be one of the ones that can be wired to form a narrow upright tree.
