I have a yellow flowering Jasmine climbing up a fence. Ive had it for about 5 years and never cut it back. It has got rather out of hand and whilst Im cutting the clematis which is next to it, thought I may cut it back also. Is it the right time of year and if so am I ok to cut it back hard?

Recommended time for pruning Jasmine nudiflorum is immediately after the main flowering is finished, so around April time. If its completely out of hand, then you can cut it back now, but you'll lose the flowers.

Ok I don't want to loose the flowers so I will wait till April.

Pdb, you should prune back half your shrub, leaving plenty of old parts to flower next time.
