hello again another question could anyone tell me why do bulbs that came up blind last year bother to grow green shoots again this year. Despite me moving bulbs around when they were dormant i seem to have more blind ones even though they are planted in at the correct depth. It is only in the last 3 years that I have had this trouble . We have owned the garden for 21 years and not had the trouble for 18 of them. Could it be the soil as we do get clay in some borders. Although the snowdrops do very well and the daffodils used to but sadly they are suffering as well as the tulips.
Thank you
Aina

Yes, as MG says, don't be too tidy with spring bulbs, leave the leaves on a few weeks till they die back naturally! they will then have chance to take in sun through the leaves to feed the plant.

this year feed them when they should ahve been flowering. this will encourage new flowers for next year. and dont keep moving them.

Hi Ania moving bulbs around is counterproductive in my opinion unless the clump has got so large it needs splitting. Are you feeding your bulbs and letting the leaves die back naturally? Just because a bulb is blind one year does not mean it wont form a flower bud to bloom the following year.
