hi, I'm looking to place a perennial flowering plant to partially cover the sight of a compost heap, something similar to a rose of sharon perhaps with good flowering period; around 6' by 6'would be roughly right. The prob with Rose of Sharon is the issue of potential seedlings sprouting, which I would want to avoid. Any ideas for alternatives?

Aucuba japonica....if you keep it pruned. Fatsia japonica would be another good one.
