Yes welcome Thabang fruit and veg, flowers, shrubs... what are your preferences. Remember we are mostly based in the UK on this site so our experience of growing in ZA is minimal... Are you down on the plains up in the hills. Lots more info please.

Look in other local gardens for typical plants that will thrive where you live. How will you buy plants or seeds? The nurseries selling these should be able to help too. Native plants will probably be the best bet if your local conditions are hot, dry etc. As for design..try and imagine where you would like to sit (sun or shade) and what else you will use the garden for. Will you need a shed? Where does the sun shine, where is the shade etc. Map these out on a rough plan and then decide where you would like to put flower/veg beds. Then comes the tricky bit...what to grow! We await your reply........

Welcome to Goy. Can we have a bit more info please? Size, of plot, soil type, climate and your preferences (child friendly?) would all be a start!
