I was given this tip for germinating seeds last year which worked really well in my greenhouse.
Use the clear plastic trays that large joints of meat are sold in from the supermarkets to act as mini cloches on your seed trays to help keep the seeds nice and moist and warm. Start saving them now ready for the warmer weather when we can get planting once more.

I use cut off bottles to fit over pots of seedlings too.

good idea. I use the tops from Pringles to cover small pots until the seeds germinate

Lovely green, inventive gardeners on here, thanks for the tips:-) I used to use egg boxes for seeds years ago as they have separate little cells and used the lid for those that needed darkness:-)

I have two large black plastic bags full of clear meat packets and strawberry punnet boxes and deep plastic ones we get cakes in....I think it has become an obsession......
