Prunus cerasifera Nigra

In Aldi atm, there is on offer -
Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' (at £4.99, such a bargain!)
which is standing around 6' tall but it's eventual height that i checked online states it around 8-12m -
http://apps.rhs.org.uk/plantselector/plant?plantid=1532
will it be easy to prune this at a shorter height w/o ruining it's overall natural shape?

so, there's no chance of manipulate it's height then in any way? (other than when it was at sapling stage)?

Not that I am aware of... This is a tree for parkland or the edge of a field not a garden.

theoretically: restricting the root growth will help reduce/stunt growth. but I wouldnt like to try it.

At least you checked before you bought Irridium.

yes, but I was hoping someone could give me the green light for me to grow this as I do love the flowers on this and the dark stems. Oh well, I'm sure there will be alternatives that will soon catch my eye!
thanks for your help and SBG!

A tree that wants to grow to the height tho one does is going to be a huge challenge if you are trying to contain size.

Buy it anyway and give it to someone who has space?

Not really as the RHS points out this is a substantial tree.
