Help! I work in a garden centre (just started 2 weeks ago) and a customer brought in a plant that can only be a weed (grows well, no care, propogates allover the place) anyway we are in Kalgoorlie Western Australia and my boss thinks it's a convolvulus of some sort but I think it's a solanum. Looks like a potato plant but isn't - has green stems so not a nightshade...? Can anyone help me beat my boss in the race for identifcation? Sorry no photo. Cheers

Trouble is that both of these families are well represented in the Australian native flora.

Be careful, Toni, until you are on very good terms with the boss. Challenging their judgement can often lead to dismissal.

I bet it's a solanum rather than convolvulus. That's all I'll say.

Thanks for the responses. I'll keep trying! My boss is a good sort and we get on well so no danger of losing my job. I'll let you know who wins! Cheers

Sorry Toni. Not many on here would venture an I.D. without a photo or two. (Especially for a plant that may well be endemic to Aus).
