I am about to plant a frangipani in a pot and would like to plant something colourful around it so it is not so barren during the deciduous period. What would you suggest ?

In the UK Frangipani is a houseplant or in hotel receptions and the like. I have seen it planted with Agapanthus and Strelizia with good affect as both retain their leaves.

The only thing I can think to make it look less stark is air plants and the like.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query.

I'll discuss these suggestions with my partner. We have quite a lot of Agapanthus growing on the nature strip adjacent to our home !

Cheers
