what will grow under a hedge

Asked from the GoYpedia dry soil plants page

Answers

The quick answer is - not a lot. Depending on how dense this hedge is, and what shrubs it is, the soil will be dry, undernourished and probably shaded.

Try Pachysandra and /or Vinca if you're prepared to pull some out when it sends out runners. Symphytum would also grow there - but be careful which one you go for, as some are invasive.
