Please can anyone help, I bought a small cyclamen last week which looked lovely but within two days had started to wilt it wasn't too wet so thinking it may be too warm in the living room I put it in the bedroom which is cooler but sadly it got worse the flowers have died and the leaves have too the ones that are left have gone from being a nice dark green to a pale greeny yellow. Could anyone please tell me what may have happened or if I did anything wrong.
Thanks

Hi Guest I suspect that your wee cyclamen was not properly cared for prior to your buying it. If you bought from a supermarket or somewhere like Lidl unfortunately the plant will have been stressed before it arrived to you. Some of the Garden Centre chains are nearly as bad. It is so frustrating because you buy at a plant which appears to be fine... The indoor cyclamen in particular hate the cold so if it was sitting in a cold draughty part of the shop or in the warehouse before it went on display you had little hope of keeping it alive. It could also have dried out too much before you bought it or been over watered... I doubt you have done anything wrong since you had.

I agree with Moon Grower....so many cyclamen plants are put on display,,showing lovely bright colours, to tempt people to buy,..and a few days later............wilted beyond hope!!!!

allow it to dry out a little and keep it draught free and in good light but not direct sun. wants to be between 18-22 degrees centigrade and you might just get new growth.
but the cause as Moon grower says is typical of the plant getting a chill.

Just a thought if you can try and feel the corm, if it is firm then the cyclamen should survive but if it is soft then you have lost the plant.
