Whin is another name for gorse (Ulex europaeus), so I guess that it would be a pest as it is so prickly.

If they are Gorse bushes, you would have a job digging them out unless you wore armour lol, so I suppose Glyphosate is the answer. That kills anything. Look for a spray with it in. Be careful, as the spray drifting onto other plants will kill then too.

here in ireland we have a spray called grason 90 i am told it will kill them it also kills briers it does not kill grass
