Has anyone else had problems with their seeds growing this year..I have a heater working in my glass green house..I planted the majority of seeds in mid february and half of them have not germinated .The temperature is about 20c....We have had snow on and off...But the problems have never been this bad...I always do what it says on the packet

Light levels have been extremely low this spring which will slow down germination and also makes seedlings leggy!

I too think light levels and the cold are making it so much harder this year.

I only managed to sow half of what i initially planned since February. Germination has been very slow and erathic until last week when almost all the seeds i've sown decided to take off, some of the leaves wilted in the sun though as the propagator got too hot even when i left them unplugged during the day

Only half of my hollyhocks germinated but I have only just started sowing seeds. It s been too temperamental to do otherwise. The propagators get too hot during the day if the sun comes out and if the sun doesnt them the greenhouse is too cold for them not to be left on.
