I had some new veg compost delivered last week and its now in my beds. I have covered it over to try and keep the soil warm. Not sure if I doing the right thing by covering it. Thanks

what have you covered the soil over with?
IE black ploythene will keep the soil darkend and weeds wont be so quick to grow but even this needs the warmth of the outside temperature to warm the soil up,
Fleece at this sort of late spring i would'nt think will do much good as parts of the uk are still having frost,
Straw is one of the better soil warmers in these very late spring/summer conditions,
Why not wait a little longer until the weather turns warmer!
You it makes sense.

It certainly wont hurt to keep the soil covered until you are ready to plant.
