I bought a Daphne Odora for a friend but when it came it was so small I was embarrassed to give it her and bought something else, so I now have a plant and no room in my garden, do you think it would grow in a pot?

I had one bought for my birthday last January which I potted up in a larger clay pot. It seems to be doing quite well - but I don't know how it will fare after all this snow and ice. It looks healthy enough.

These plants are invariably small when you buy them, and not cheap either, which is infuriating - for what they cost, you expect something of a reasonable size, but that's not usually what you get, even at the garden centre. I'd give it to your friend anyway!

I had a large clay pot inmind Cammomile, but have decided to give to friend anyway but as Bamboo says it is small and not cheap, I was so disappointed when it came. My friend had been going on about this plant she had seen and the lovely perfume so I thought i would give her a big surprise -------------------------I was the one who had the surprise ! ! :o((

Daphnes are notoriously difficult in pots. They need a steady supply of moisture at the root without becoming saturated but also wihout drying out. Either condition will kill them.
