Can anyone tell me anything about this fuchsia plant please? i.e. how to look after it, when to plant it and is it a climbing or bush plant. also is it hardy.

Its a bush and not hardy. If you want to overwinter it you might find it easiest to grow it in a container.
If you want to plant it in the ground its important to wait until there is no risk of frost.
You can take cuttings in the autumn to overwinter if you haven't got room to store a big plant, (remove any flower buds as these inhibit root formation) but its possible to keep the whole plant in a cool room - if its really very cool you can allow the plant to dry out and lose its leaves.You can then cut back the stems to a few inches. In about late February you should the remaining branches with tepid water and begin to water the compost, bringing the plant into a warmer place.
Its a lovely fuchsia.
