Hello, one of my clients has a polytunnel which he has had for many years now, its very sturdy and robust, he uses it for growing seeds growing on young plants and for storing tender plants through the winter, its all about how much you want to spend i guess , that old saying you only get what you pay for springs to mind, but if you like i can find out more about this polly tunnel, costs and any other bits of info if you like.

I have just put a new 18ft X 13ft up on my allotment and it was quite easy to do have a look on first tunnels web site and they have polythene calculator and other tools to help design your own also they is some good stuff on you tube on how to build polytunnels.When I did mine I used the trenching method to secure the polythene rather than the base rail method to save a load of money and I also used corner stabilisers to add strength to the frame I will be doing a blog this week on my allotment and new tunnel with some new pics.

Thanks Julien, given it is my first go with this kind of technology I bought one at the weekend for £40 on ebay. Retail prices for the one I managed to get was £120 so im pleased. I have started using it already, see blog.

Thanks Steve, the one i bought doesnt strike me as that sturdy but my thinking is to upgrade next year if I take to using and finding it useful. I really want a greenhouse and so i guess this is a step towards that.
