FEEDING YOUR POT PLANTS

I have been wondering recently what other gardeners use to feed their pot plants over the spring, summer and autumn. Or, indeed, do they feed them at all. You may say 'well it depends on what plant you have in your pots?' Yes of course this plays a part but I am thinking of pretty ordinary plants like roses, anemonies, bulbs, agapanthus and my hanging baskets etc. etc. I have used Miracle-Grow in the past but wondered if, say, a good tomato feed would be better.

I use slow release granules in the outdoor pots. In the spring I remove the top 2" compost and replace it with fresh compost + slow release. I also use tomato food for hanging baskets etc.
House plants get baby bio.

I have jumbles of pots here there and everywhere, at home and clients gardens, all potted up using home made compost i must add i have roughly 40 or so compost heaps, pots contain many different shrubs, inc bamboos, roses and perennials along with summer bedding, they thrive, the bamboos and other shrubs get a few hand fulls of chicken pellets thrown in, and every so often they all get a drink of my comfry liquid feed.

Years ago as a teenager, I used to go over the road and collect sheep manure in a sack for my mother. She fixed
this sack in the water butt. Dont know what strength she
used.
Lecheate -worm juice- should be diluted 1- 10 parts water, so I just empty the 1 pint jug in a watering can and add 1 gallon of water.

@ Johnp58. Compost tea.... I open the composter at the bottom and take out the half rotted compost...then put it in a jute bag ..you could also use tights...the things a lot of women wear....fill the bag up with the half rotted compost...I then have a ca.50 litre plastic bucket...with a lid... fill it with rain water. I then put the bag in that and leave it for a few weeks, giving it a good stir every day....that how I make compost tea...no doubt other people have different methods...when the tea starts to smell strong I use it...1 part compost tea..4 parts rain water.
