Kennilworth Ivy or properly Cymbalaria muralis. Tis a bit of a spreader where suited.

Ivy leaved toadflax, grows wild here in Devon, like damp walls, and corners.

I know it as the common name Ivy leaved toadflax. It is gorgeous in old walls but if you dont like it pull it out. one man/womans rose is another man/womans weed :o)

Grows wild in the north of Scotland also, Lizzie. I like it but have no hesitation in pulling some out if it gets too aggressive.

And grows wild here on dry stone walls. I think it's pretty.

Thank you everyone , it seems the choice is mine ,I have pulled some plants up other years but it soon grows back again . odd that it likes damp places because it's growing in the hottest sunnies place possible but then it is at the base of the house wall and in the gravel surrounding it ... thanks for your help and for naming it for me :o)

A friend gave me a pure white piece several years ago. I love it sprouting out of the corners of the steps and popping up in cracks on the terrace etc. Last year it took over a tub where a plant had died and is now draped all down the sides as well as covering the top. It's so pretty I have just left it to have its way. It is easy to pull up but you will probably never eradicate it, so just enjoy!

Penny you have helped me to make a decision I'm going to leave it to scramble over the gravel ,it's not doing any harm and it does look pretty ,it's not in the main garden only in the gravel drive . thank you for taking the trouble to answer and for helping me to make up my mind about it :o)

Glad you've decided to leave it, Amy. You can always pull up the excess. Personally I like pretty things that crop up spontaneously and always leave them where I can.
