I've had trees grown from the nut produce nuts in four years. So you should get a crop later this year all being well.

my next door plot holder grew a hazel nut tree ,planted it five years ago, had his first small crop of nuts last year, then the squirrels took them,so he waiting all that time for a hand full of nuts,then lost them to a rodent
