The neglected apple tree .
When I moved next door to the apple tree (shown below) 38 years ago, it was ancient then, and no-one's ever tended to it in any way. Yet every other year it has a bumper crop of apples, with a lesser number in other years. And the apples make superb pies.( along with a decent cook of course) !
Is it possible to find the name of these apples ?

Google Apple Identification. there is also I think a National Apple Day when experts will identify, but try Google first, there's a site that deals with heritage varieties.
