plant i.d please .... my other halfs autie gave her this plant, lovely red flower which has foliage with an odour which i can only describe as some sort of herb, its quite a pleasant odour just brushing against it is enough, ...... big many thanks. p.

Think it's Salvia hotlips. Usually, they're red and white but due to moisture and heat levels, flowers can be all red or all white. Mine is the same as the one above.

Salvia greggii cultivar, probably one called 'Royal Bumble'

I was going to suggest Salvia x 'Maraschino', but 'Hotlips is likely, too. If 'Hotlips', some of the branches will develop flowers with a white lower lip, and sometimes even pure white.

Big thanks everyone ... i have noticed just recently the older flowers turning white before they fall off, a great addition i think although where its gonna end up im not sure ..... many big thanks again. ;)

Well, if it is 'Hotlips', the new flowers will have some white on them, too.
