Palm tree type plant looks like its dead? I don't know the name of my plant it looks like a palm tree I bought it as a pot plant 6 years ago. It has a single trunk with single long jaggy leaves. It has been outside for about 5 years. This year just before Christmas I had a look at it and thought how well it looked. It was just about 4 feet high. However I have just noticed after the really bad snow it has totally died back. The leaves used to be dark green tall and pointy, now they are just wilting in a pile of mush and are a pale yellow colour. Do you think its had it or should I just leave it and see what happens?

Cordyline.........yep agree with Seaburngirl....only I would leave the cutting back till Spring. We have just had more snow here, and there are many weeks left for sharp frosts, the limp drooping leaves will protect the crown even if they're unsightly.
