Why is some of my weeping rosewood trees in Darwin are spliting bark open and red sap is bleeding from tree and appears tree is dyeing

Possibly a form of canker, and, yes, the trees are dying, if that's the case. However, need to know the proper name of the tree before more suggestions as to problem are proffered. There are many trees to which the common name 'rosewood' is applied.
