Water into wine?
I drew some water from the butt today and it was frothy and smelled alcoholic - rather nice, like apple wine! We took the top off to have a look and yes, it was fermenting, with a horrid black scum on top. I guess what was fermenting was all the bits of sycamore blossom from the conservatory roof. The question is, do think this will be OK to use for watering pot plants?

Oh I love wine - but that sounds horrid! Its organic so I shouldn't think it will do any harm.

Fine to water anything with - just don't drink it!

Sycamore blossom champagne! Hmm, doesn't seem to figure on the Grandes Marques lists. I've checked thoroughly. I'll have my man in London look it up.

I wasn't planning to drink it, but it does smell rather nice!
However let me know what your man says Worthy. I was going to use some to fill the bird bath but don't think drunken tits and woodpeckers would be a good idea with cats around.

I wouldn't put in the bird bath...
