I am going to plant out some Chard/silverbeet seedlings...my question is...do the pidgeons attack this vegetable...they leave my spinach alone so I am hoping I don't have to net these chards...

Thank you, have put them out along with some greyhound cabbage so included a net over them all...will take slug protection as well...do you know how to keep slugs out of the more mature cabbages as they get ready for the table...?

I am afraid I used slug pellets (very un pc) but I am not a one for going out at night with the salt or a pair of scissors!

Yes, me too with the blue pellets.... i sometimes go around my own garden and pick them up and sling in the woods....but not making a journey to the allotment...thanks anyway..

I grew some last year - didn't notice the pigeons eating it but the slugs did.
