Hi
I hope someone can help me please. My dianthus, which was looking stunning, has something stripping the stems and I would like to know what it is. I have looked under and there is nothing to alert me and no obvious things on the plant except a few aphids which I thought sucked the sap rather than stripped the stems?
Thanks
Heather

Could be snail or slug damage.

reckon its slugs etc too. they are good at hiding under stones/bark in fact any nook or cranny.

And that damage is typical of the way they rasp the surface off plant stems

Hi
Thank you all so much I was under the impression slugs did not like dianthus but underneath there are some small yellow slugs who must be the culprits.
Thanks Heather
