Sad Fig Tree

Surrey, United Kingdom Gb

I have a 3 year Fig Tree which fruits every year it is 4ft tall x 5ft wide. There are no signs of bug or disease. It is in a good mix compost, not underwatered or overwatered and has good drainage and fed when needed. It is no different in sun or shade, I am baffled, why do the leaves always look so sad and droopy.

Please give me your thoughts.

Thanks

Sharon

Can I ask if you leave that saucer beneath it all the time, even after you've given it a good soak? Because that will hold water and stop the pot from draining properly, and figs don't like their feet standing in sopping wet soil. Suggest you remove the saucer and water it frequently, giving it a good soak each time, letting the water run out as it will.

Thank you I do water and leave the saucer in place so it would sit in water. I shall remove the saucer immediately.

I may even repot it tomorrow.

Thank you.

To be honest that pot is way to small for such as a fig to grow in,
figs are known for their root's spreading like hell, and your fig is crying out for better than a small pot,
Even the amount of compost in that pot isn't enough to give the fig growing power,

Trees and shrubs should be in urns "if not the ground" and even then its not the best place for them to grow as nature intended.

"Get it into the ground with a lot more good compost and you'll see a fig as it should be in both site of fruit and size of tree".

How do I say thanks?
