You are certainly not alone, Treefern, I also enjoy weeding, fortunately. In our garden there are a lot of plants that self-seed and I get excited at identify these seedlings and not pulling them up.

Yes it's always a worry I have to wait and make sure they are indeed a weed and not an undiscovered gem unfortunately after the wait they usually have formed extensive root systems.but I'm hoping that as my experience grows ill know how too tell the difference at an earlier stage but I'm glad I'm not alone thanks bulba :)

I do not like weeding I have an allotment that needs constantly weeding and we are fighting a battle with bind weed and the other usual suspects. I wish our produce would grow as quick and be as plentiful as the weeds.

I find it quite therapeutic,so yes,I do enjoy it..luckily, I don't seem to have too many to spoil the enjoyment, but if I had an allotment ,I probably wouldn't.Sometimes a small garden can be a blessing,as it's easy to keep under control..

Yep, nothing nicer on a warm, sunny day to get on my hands and knees and do some hand weeding. I also have a fantastic diamond hoe which cuts through the soil like its a hot knife through butter.

Love it !!!

Yep like Andy and the others i find weeding a really nice time to think about all sorts of things,

It's a bit like when you first pass your driving test and you are so aware of every thing you do ie turning the wippers on using the indicators, but after you've got more experienced you do those things without really thinking about them and your minds on other things,
weeding to me is much the same, "im weeding away but thinking about other things,
Its nice when you get a weed that takes up so much room and as you remove it you've now got a nice space for other things,
One of the best gardening tools is your hoe and if used on a regular basis weeds dont stand a chance.

It's not something I look forward to doing , but when I actually start I take great pleasure in pulling the weeds out and I then start to enjoy it. There is also instant gratification when you have weed-free borders.

I like weeding and do some most days to keep on top of it. I do think though that sometimes I might miss out on some self seeders that I would want if I had let them grow.

I don't particularly enjoy it but do very much enjoy looking at the nice tidy bed when its finished.

Yes I enjoy it nothing gives me more pleasure than pulling at weed and finding end of the root in tact and knowing I have got the little bugger out a bit like a dentist I suppose lol

i enjoy weeding but i do enjoy the results after more, nothing more satisfying then looking at a weed free garden and knowing you did all the work yourself, recently helped my sister do her front garden only small but got about 10 bags of weeds out of it but the results at end were even better, everyone now does double takes at her front garden, starting on the back garden next!

I too enjoy weeding although the way I do it there are very few weeds.

I whip over my open soil with a dutch hoe or long handled cultivator every week. Done that way there are hardly any weeds and the ground stays friable so it's very easy to do.

I did an area of garden 60 feet long by an average of 10 feet deep yesterday eveing in about 10 minutes!

For beginners I've produced some videos on using these two tools

Good for you treefern in not giving in and block paving your front garden. A lot of my neighbours have blocked paved theirs and in my opinion they look lifeless and soul less. My front garden gets a lot of attention and I get so many positive comments from passersby, that it's worth all the work.
