Hi,
Well firstly figs have a good wide root system and why Anyone thinks a tree will grow in a saucer sized container when you think of how much roots these trees have is just unbelievable,

Look at the two other containers you've got trees in on both sides of this fig!
your fig is dying due to feeling like a poor relation and not getting enough of anything its needs,
ie that under saucer needs moving, the fig needs (if you insist on containers ) one thats at least the size of half a wine barrel and then the soil/compost has to be very good and free draining And "all" fruit trees need feeding
and the container soil checked to see it has all the fruit needs to produce its fruit.

Your trying to grow something that needs root space /drainage and feeding also placed in a place it can get light and sun,
Looking for a second time i think that fig is looking at that empty container & thinking "thats my next home"
no wonder it looks half dead.

Lets have a be good to fig weekend and have a new picture next week with figgy in a much bigger home and feeling like part of the family.

Remember that a fig in a container needs a good bit of water--don't let more than the top 1/2 cm of soil get dry between soakings. Twice a day here in the desert--maybe every other day in the UK?

How do I say thanks?
