our cordolynes have had heavy snow lying on them and the leaves now point downwards what should we do

The new leaves that grow this year should be OK. But these plants are not terribly hardy, especially after the winter that we have had! Pull or cut off the worst of the lower leaves if you want and as Sooze says...pray...or whatever you do, fingers crossed. Let us know how they get on.
