My courgettes are taking over my greenhouse. Can I remove leaves without damaging the plants ?

I think you could remove the oldest ones, have you plenty of courgettes?

Hi Pam, thanks for your reply. There are no courgettes yet, but the plants are big and healthy and I think there are lots on the way.

Then I,d give it a regular dose of tomato food, it is a high potash feed that encourages flowers and fruit....
You sound as if its making too much leafy growth

Don't remove them all though!

:)) steragram! :)) I remove the lower leaves on mine with no ill effects, but I only start to do this once fruit is set. I don't know why...it just feels right to me. I feed with tomato fertiliser at least once a week, and water every day. I've had a lovely crop this year....very pleased with them! Good luck Rob!

I meant don't remove all the leaves on the plant - probably a daft comment as nobody would do that would they...
