hi, can anyone tell me how to cut my laurel bushes, they are in a row and very tall and wide. can I treat them like a hedge and use hedge trimmers on them so they will look straight on the sides or do I have to cut each branch separately. many thanks

They'll take being cut with a hedgetrimmer, but the leaves will look a bit shredded until they're hidden by new growth

And, if they're tall, you may have to take a saw to them. They won't really mind. They'll get over it. It's good to get them done before August because they'll have time to make up some growth which will be ripened and look good before winter
