Looks like a sunflower to me

very spindly if it is. have you tried growing a cape gooseberry from seed? Could you take a picture of it from the other side?

I thought a sunflower. It is photographed as being grown indoors so will be drawn. On the other hand, I have never seen a Cape Gooseberry so I can't compare.

It does not look like a Cape Gooseberry, I agree that it is almost certainly a Sunflower. If it is you will see a large flower head forming on the other side. It definitely needs some sun if you can arrange it.
