What varieties are you growing,?
I have been eating the newer smaller toms like sweet 100 and golden sunrise since the beginning of the month, but the older bigger ones like Alicante are fruiting well but not ripening at all yet

my 'tumbling tom' tomatoes have only just formed tiny fruits!let alone ripening, however they are out of doors, but in a sunny spot. So, depends on where you site them and if they are growing outdoors or in a greenhouse? Also the variety.

Don't despair - we have had far more and hotter sunshine than the UK, and ours have been taking an age to ripen - some of our plants don't even have any fruits on at all yet. Just keep watering and feed once the trusses have formed and you'll get there. I think warmth makes more of a difference than actual sunshine.

Get a couple of ripe supermarket tomatoes and suspend them somehow near some of the toms you think are ready for ripening. They give off a gas that encourages ripening, which is why once they get started there are no more problems. Banana skins may work too for the same reason- worth trying. This also works with end-of -season ones you have to pick green, and is quicker than the usual leave on a windowsill or in a drawer.

Are they growing in the sun or in shade? Tomatoes need sun to ripen them.
