All leaves in my garden are full of holes-dahlias ,brassica etc. I cannot find anything that's eating them. I search every night for slugs but find very few. Does anyone know the cause?

what about earwigs too? I know they like dahlia flowers.

Sounds like slug damage to me. They tend to come out only at night, esp after rain and in wet weather they can travel to find food - so you may not find them closeby.
