Does anyone know what this weeping tree is please. We have recently moved into a new property and don't have a clue what it is. It appears to have a raspberry type fruit on it. Your help would be appreciated
Regards. Pauline

Yes, that's a mulberry. Lovely isn't it? Nice to find that, and in good condition. Some I've seen are tatty trees.
Morus alba 'Pendula'. Note, not morus nigra, which has tastier fruit.

Lucky you. This would be lovely if I had the room.

Many thanks to you all for your comments, hopefully it's been there long enough to look after itself xxx

There is a very old Mulberry Tree near the Manor House Museum Kettering. One Sunday evening, when there was nobody about, a lady was picking the fruit. She told me she picks it every year to make jam with.

Mulberries make lovely jelly, nicer really as the pips are quite big and hard. The darker the fruit the sweeter it is.

Wait for them to turn almost black - they aren't ready at the red stage.

The fruit is that of a mulberry. I did not know that there was a weeping form before.
