Usually labelled in GC's as Lysimachia punctate. There is a nice variegated one called Lysimachia 'Alexander' which doesn't spread so much.

Thanks Camomile and jaykaty. I had a feeling it was a 'thug' as a I
saw the way it was growing in my sons garden but I don't mind that, my garden is full of different plants like that. Better than bare earth:-)

I love these too,Troddles, especially as they seem to stay upright, even after the storm we had last week. ..a great gap filler ...

I have it planted in a shady corner, where it is quite well behaved ... and brightens up the little corner too :o)

Hello again Bloomer and Hywel. Glad I am not the only one who appreciates the "thugs". I was warned off Japanese Anemones but they grow lovely and tall at the back of a difficult bed which is always in full sun and have never been a bother.

Ah that's where I've been going wrong. My Japanese anemones have taken over a patch of garden in sull sun and are getting huge. Time to divide them.

Japanese anemones, don't get me started lol, I had these dug out from 2 areas in my garden when we had the makeover, I still find them coming back, so I spray them with a systemic weed killer whenever I spot them, they are a nightmare to try and dig out.

Japanese Anemonies are also well behaved in my garden :o) I have pink ones and white ones. They form two small clumps, and have been that size for many years, although they are in full sun.
