I have just bought and planted a hydrangea,it is about two feet tall and has several stems and a couple of flowers. It has a tie round the stems part way up obviously to stop them drooping. Can anyone advise me when to remove the tape.I am frightened that I will spoil it.
Thanks Magga

I would leave the tape for some months after the plant has had time to settle in and root-perhaps until the hard frosts cause the leaves to fall off. Keep it well watered. It will be self supporting after that.

How about staking it with two or three canes and loosely tying the plant back - gives it support but also allows it to spread out so that you can appreciate the flowers.

How do I say thanks?
