A branch of plum tree bearing lots of fruit has started drying while the fruit is still unripe and shrivelling. Why?

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
Can not see any physical damage on the tree.
The tree is about 4years old. Two weeks a go one branch went and now the second branch has started to dry.

Could it be short of water?
If you can't see a problem above ground maybe its at the roots
